ChatGPT: All the Rage Right Now

I'm a bit behind on this research, but a recent study done by Pew Research showed that just 14% of U.S. adults have tried ChatGPT. Additionally, only 14% have used it to learn something new. About one-in-ten adults who have heard of ChatGPT and are currently working for pay have used it at work. So congratulations, you're in the top 14% of Tech Savvy adults!
If you've used AI, you've seen the incredible opportunities that are available to you. The use cases are endless, if you keep to the confines of:
- Text Generation: This includes creating articles, stories, poems, and other forms of written content.
- Image Generation: In addition to turning text into images, AI can create original images from scratch, often referred to as AI art. DeepArt and DeepDream are examples of this.
- Music Generation: AI can compose original pieces of music. OpenAI's MuseNet is an example of a project that does this.
- Video Generation: AI can create short videos or animations.
- Voice Generation: Besides text-to-speech, AI can generate voices, which can be used in virtual assistants or for dubbing in movies. Examples include Google's Tacotron and OpenAI's Jukebox.
- Data Augmentation: AI can generate synthetic data to augment real datasets, which is useful in situations where data is scarce.
- Drug Discovery: Generative AI models can propose novel molecular structures for potential new drugs.
- Game Level Design: AI can generate levels or scenarios in video games to enhance player experience.
- Chatbots: AI can generate human-like text in real-time conversation, as in the case of customer service chatbots.
- Code Generation: AI can write software code, for example, the GitHub's Copilot.
And when you write it out, the use cases are pretty endless. Just in the admin field alone, I can think of dozens of use cases in which to use ChatGPT.
For example, if an Administrative Professional needs to draft a company-wide announcement, they can provide a brief summary or bullet points of the key information to the AI, which can then generate a well-structured, eloquent, and engaging draft of the announcement. This saves the professional a lot of time and energy, allowing them to focus on other tasks.
In addition, AI can assist with reviewing documents. Language models can be trained to identify potential grammatical errors, awkward phrasing, or inconsistencies, providing suggestions for improvement. They can also help ensure that the tone and style of the document align with the company's guidelines or the specific context in which the document will be used.
AI can also assist with knowledge management. Administrative professionals often need to search through extensive databases or resources to find specific information. ChatGPT can be trained to navigate these databases, providing quick and accurate responses to queries, saving the professional valuable time.
And let's not forget about AI's potential in meeting preparation. While this is not directly related to calendar scheduling, preparing for a meeting often involves tasks such as drafting an agenda, noting key discussion points, or sending out pre-meeting briefs. An AI can assist in all these tasks, ensuring meetings are more efficient and productive.
